Mitt Romney's channeling Joseph Campbell...

I'm a little behind on blogging...or maybe I was too depressed after the first presidential debate to write anything. So much anticipation, and so much disappointment. It was as if President Obama just didn't really see the point of the debate.

Mitt Romney was channeling Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth! Check out these 27 myths that he spouted on Wednesday night. For example:

  • Saying that he supports insurance for people with preexisting conditions: "Only people who are continuously insured would not be discriminated against because they suffer from pre-existing conditions. This protection would not be extended to people who are currently uninsured."
  • Claiming that half the green firms Obama has supported have gone out of business. "As of late last year, only “three out of the 26 recipients of 1705 loan guarantees have filed for bankruptcy, with losses estimated at just over $600 million.”
  • Attacking Obama for cuts to the military. "Romney is referring to the sequester, which his running mate Paul Ryan supported. Obama opposes the military cuts and has asked Congress to formulate a balanced approach that would avoid the trigger."

And for a really amusing satire of the debate, check out this parody (We Were All Like...). I am also very disappointed that some people say that Romney appeared more presidential, when he was lying so boldly!!! Is that what we want in a president--a liar?
I am hoping and praying that Obama rocks in the next two debates! We are all counting on him.
