End of an era

Today we saw the final Harry Potter movie installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2." Even though it seemed nearly unbearable to wait for the next movie at the end of Part 1 (we saw it back in November),  in some ways it seemed like we had just left Voldemort at Dumbledore's tomb. I had mixed feelings about seeing the final film. We've been Harry Potter lovers for a long time, so we've been counting the days to the release of this movie. As luck would have it, it coincided with the visit of Mike's mum and sister (with her kids) from England. So today, Mike and I, his sister Kath, and three of our boys trooped off to the theater.

We all loved it and the adults cried. They changed a number of things from the book, and my biggest regret was the fact that many of the characters had very small roles. It was all about Harry vs. Voldemort. But the movie was a satisfying ending to the series, even though it wasn't perfect.

Long live Harry Potter!
