Lego finally did the trick...

With a little help from the pediatrician! Yes, we can finally put toilet training behind us. Phew! Kieran was the only easy one of the three: I trained him over a 3-day weekend at the beach when he was 3 years, 3 months.

At age 4, Nick has been using the toilet for a long time, but only for pee. He is our picky eater and eats a lot of white foods--very few fruits and veggies. Consequently, he gets constipated and is hit with performance anxiety on the toilet.

After trying just about everything we could think of, we took him to the pediatrician, who started him on mirolax. At the same time, we made a poop chart with Toy Story Lego as the prize.

The tactic worked, at last! Now just to wean him off the laxative, which seems to be happening on its own, because he's getting suspicious (Mike's been sneaking it in his drinks.) He is very proud of himself!

The Lego arrived the other day, all 500+ pieces of it. The boys (mostly Chris) enjoyed assembling it. In fact, Chris and Kieran got up early today--I came upstairs to find them quietly at work. Kieran's mostly there for moral support--he's less interested in Lego.

All done, this morning:

The happy pooper!

I have to admit, his parents are happy too! I do not enjoy toilet training, especially with boys!!!
