Vancouver--Gastown/Chinatown/Canada Place

We just returned from a fun-filled week in Vancouver BC with my sister and her family. We rented a house near Douglas Park, and it was pure cousin love all week long!

Traveling in a pack of 10, with 6 kids, is quite an adventure, and it's amazing to look back on the week and see how much we saw and did. We arrived in Vancouver on Sunday afternoon/evening, and Monday we set out to see a bit of the city. We walked to the Skytrain station (which was about 3/4 of a mile away) to take mass transit downtown. We started off our walking tour in Gastown, where we had lunch at the good ol' Spaghetti Factory.

Aren't they handsome?

After walking through historic Gastown, we headed for Chinatown and the Sun Yat Sen memorial park.

Garrett lost his second tooth that day!

Then we continued our walking tour to Canada Place on the waterfront:

Getting ready to take the SkyTrain home--the boys' little feet were aching from all the walking we did that day! Of all the activities we did in Vancouver, this day was probably the boys' least-favorite day. Later in the week I enjoyed teasing Daniel that I knew he wanted to go back to walk more around Chinatown! I guess walking tours are better suited for adults than kids! It did give us a good flavor of the city on our first day.

Home for dinner and playtime.
