Willy Wonka Musical

For my Portland readers:

New Moon Productions is an acting company that teaches kids' acting workshops and puts on plays throughout the year. Every summer they present a musical in the Washington Park Amphitheater. Previously we've seen Cinderella, Honk!, Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, and Kieran's favorite last year, "The Wizard of Oz"!

This year they are doing a musical production of Willy Wonka, with songs from the classic movie with Gene Wilder (not the scary one with Johnny Depp, although I still love Johnny Depp!) Remember "Oompa, Loompa, Doodly Do...I have another question for you..."? I'll be singing along!

We will be attending tomorrow night with picnic in tow, with our friend Shelia and her kids who are visiting from Idaho. Please join us if you are so inclined! It's never terribly crowded and parking is not too bad compared to other events in the park.

The best part: it's free! The actors come around at the end and collect donations, but that is totally voluntary. Bring a picnic along and join us! When you come down the stairs toward the amphitheater, go to the right side. (For some reason, we always sit on that side!)
